INTECH Construction and O’Donnell & Naccarato, Inc. recently celebrated the completion of the Elmwood Park Zoo’s Welcome Center and Animal Hospital. INTECH Construction served as the general contractor on the project, enhancing the 73-acre campus, with a new 37,000 square foot welcome center. This center includes exhibit space, a gift shop, an animal hospital, and administrative offices.
O’Donnel & Naccorato provided structural engineering design services for the three-story building, which houses the 17,000 square-foot Frank & Paige Engro Veterinary Health Center. This facility features a surgical suite, diagnostic lab, indoor and outdoor recovery wards, and an in-house pharmacy. Additionally, the project includes 8,000 square feet of new administrative space above a beautifully reimagined entrance plaza with new ticket windows, rest areas, and a gift shop.
