OSHA will be increasing enforcement efforts for Silica Standard compliance. OSHA’s research has shown that compliance with the new standards are lacking and it will be enforcing the new standards more diligently. OSHA requires that local area branch offices conduct mandatory outreach to the industry to raise awareness of the enhanced emphasis on RCS inspections prior to their implementation. Expect enhanced inspections starting around June 2020.

Download the changes to the silica standard enforcement. This Instruction describes policies and procedures for implementing a National Emphasis Program (NEP) to identify and reduce or eliminate worker exposures to respirable crystalline silica (RCS) in general industry, maritime, and construction.
