Congratulations to our Philadelphia region students who were awarded scholarships from the AGC Education and Research Foundation! These scholarships are awarded to post-secondary students studying in construction-related fields and are valued at $2,500 per year.

Kassandra Sloan of Drexel University was awarded the Robert B. & Celine Fay Scholarship and Nicholas (Nick) Giagunto of Rowan University was awarded the Judith and James Pizzagalli Scholarship.

 

Kassandra Sloan is a fourth-year junior at Drexel University (five-year program), majoring in Architectural Engineering with a minor in Construction Management. She hopes to work as an assistant project manager or assistant project engineer after she graduates in June 2022. Kassandra is interested in commercial construction and intends to work her way up to becoming a project manager. While at Drexel, she has held two six-month, construction-related co-op terms. The first was with F.W. Madigan Company in Worcester, MA. She is currently completing her second co-op term with TN Ward Company in Ardmore, PA.

 

Nicholas (Nick) Giagunto is a Junior at Rowan University, majoring in Civil and Environmental Engineering. He is scheduled to graduate in the Spring of 2022, after which he intends to work in the heavy civil sector. Nick has completed an estimating internship with R. E. Pierson Construction Company in Pilesgrove, NJ. This summer, he will do a Project Manager Internship with South State, Inc. in Williamstown, NJ, during which he hopes to build a good foundation and understanding of construction management.
