As recently featured in the Philadelphia Business Journal, longtime NBC10 anchor Rosemary Connors has traded in her microphone for a hard hat—leaving broadcast journalism to launch her own woman-owned scaffolding company, Rosette Specialty Trades.
After 15 years on the air in Philadelphia and nearly two decades in journalism, Connors stepped away from the anchor desk in late 2023 to pursue a new chapter in the construction industry. Her company is already making an impact, with projects at Temple University, Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, Citizens Bank Park, Lincoln Financial Field, and more.
Though this career move may seem unexpected, Connors has been laying the groundwork for years. With a J.D. from Temple University’s Beasley School of Law, a strong family connection to the trades through chimney maintenance firm D.J. Cross, and a passion for entrepreneurship, construction felt like the right next step.
Over the last few years, I knew that when the time would come for me to leave NBC10, it would be into the construction space,” Connors told the Philadelphia Business Journal. “It was really about finding the right opportunity and the right moment to do it.
