OSHA has increased the number of Compliance Officers in the Philadelphia Region, and one of the issues that they are looking at is silica compliance.

The GBCA Silica Program provides discounts on respirable silica sampling, which helps members monitor silica levels on site. This program is free for GBCA members and helps meet the compliance standards of OSHA’s Silica Rule.

Read what GBCA members currently enrolled in the program have to say about the GBCA Silica Program:

Phil VanVeen, Safety Director, B. Pietrini & Sons, Inc.

The GBCA Silica Program is very user-friendly and easy to set up. It saves the company in time and potential fines, and allows us access to historical data when applicable.

Ed Christy, Director of Safety, Clemens Construction Company, Inc.

The GBCA Silica Program has saved our company thousands of dollars by allowing us to use the testing equipment ourselves, rather than hiring an Industrial Hygienist to take samples. The equipment comes to where we need it and it is easy to use. The kit comes with a phone number to contact a real support person should we have any questions or issues.

The ability to use the historical database should eliminate some testing costs as well as aid in time management when planning certain activities. Overall, the program is a well-built package that helps keep our workers and our company compliant.
