On Monday, June 16, TN Ward Company held two Heat Safety Stand Downs to promote jobsite wellness and raise awareness about heat-related risks. The first session took place at the University City project site—future home of the University of Pennsylvania’s Student Performing Arts Center—while the second was held at Liberty53, a new residential development in West Philadelphia.

GBCA Safety Consultant Jim McGugan led both stand downs, educating crews on how to prevent heat-related illnesses, the importance of staying hydrated, and how to recognize early warning signs of dehydration. GBCA staff were also on site to support the initiative, distributing t-shirts and cooling towels to help workers stay cool and safe on the job.
