May 7-11 was Construction Safety Week and OSHA’s National Safety Stand-Down to Prevent Falls in Construction. Several GBCA members participated in celebrating and encouraging safety by either holding special safety celebrations, daily toolbox talks, safety stand downs, or safety presentations during lunch. Here are some of the activities done by GBCA members during May 7-11:
Limbach Company
Limbach Company celebrated Safety Week by holding toolbox talks throughout the week, and ending the week with a celebratory BBQ.
LF Driscoll
LF Driscoll held a Stand Down at the University of Pennsylvania on Wednesday, May 9, which featured OSHA representatives.
Shoemaker Construction Co.
Shoemaker Construction held a Stand Down at Fashion District Philadelphia on Thursday, May 10. Frank Durso gave a toolbox talk on checking safety equipment.
INTECH Construction
OSHA representatives were present for a Stand Down at The View II on Friday, May 11. The Stand Down featured presentations on preventing falls.
Healy Long & Jevin with Skanska USA Building
A safety lunch was held at Christiana Hospital in Delaware.
Healy Long & Jevin with Med-Tex Services, Inc.
A safety presentation was done by Med-Tex Services at a Broad Street site.
Jenkintown Building Services
Stand-Downs and Toolbox talks were held throughout the week.
