On Wednesday, March 6, 2019, the National Association of Women In Construction (NAWIC) Philadelphia Chapter 145 hosted a jobsite tour of the Ronson Health and Applied Science Center site at Jefferson University (Philadelphia University + Jefferson University), a project being built by INTECH Construction.
This tour was part of a week-long series of events celebrating Women in Construction (WIC) Week 2019. Before the tour, NAWIC Philadelphia President Angelina Perryman showed participants the City of Philadelphia Proclamation by Mayor Jim Kenney, proclaiming March 4-10, 2019, as Women in Construction Week in Philadelphia.
The tour, led by INTECH Project Manager Margie Arendt, highlighted some of the strategies used on the project, particularly to address site-specific challenges such as being on an active university campus, being at a busy intersection with limited parking, and scheduling issues because of space constraints and weather related-issues.
