GBCA is a proud member of the Associated General Contractors of America (AGC). This year, AGC is celebrating its 100th Anniversary, and to celebrate it, AGC published a special Centennial Issue of Constructor Magazine.
To celebrate the strength of the nation’s construction industry, AGC drew from GBCA’s past and current expertise. GBCA’s President Ben Connors, Director of Education and Professional Development Angela Hendrix, and Director of Safety Services Frank Durso are quoted in the following articles:
- Safety: We’ve Come a Long Way, Baby (p. 68-74)
- Technology: Keeping Up with the Rapid Pace of Change (p. 112-120)
- Looking Ahead: The Next 100 Years (p. 124-127)
GBCA is also one of the featured chapters in the article, “Chapters: Strength in Numbers” (pg. 105-107). This article features past photos from the GBCA archives, and describes the significance of the young leaders coming from GBCA’s Construction Leadership Council.

GBCA is also featured in the November/December 2018 issue. The article, “#excellenceisbuilding: GBCA Sets a High Industry Standard,” describes GBCA’s #excellenceisbuilding campaign, which in 2017, positioned the organization and our membership as leaders creating positive change in Philadelphia’s commercial construction industry. The article also highlights how GBCA’s member engagement has increased, along with stronger brand recognition of Philadelphia’s union construction industry: a strong labor force that is skilled, safe, and dedicated to quality work.
