On January 20, 2020, 6abc Action News host Gina Gannon filmed a Facebook Live video at the Houseman Recreation Center, where GBCA, the ACE Mentor Program of Greater Philadelphia, Clemens Construction Company, the Eastern Atlantic States Regional Council of Carpenters, and the Office of Philadelphia Council Member Cherelle Parker were gathered for a Day of Service to honor Martin Luther King Jr Day. Materials for the project were provided by Woodland Building Supply.
In the video, Gina interviews several project organizers to learn more about Philadelphia’s building industry and the project—picnic tables and benches for the community:
