The AGC 2019 Leadership Development Conference closed with a special job site tour of the Penn Medicine Pavilion project, being built by LF Driscoll and Balfour Beatty US.

During tour, attendees learned about this project’s use of Integrated Project Delivery (IPD), which along with lean construction principles, have helped improve scheduling, safety measures, and project team communications. Prefabrication of building components such as the patient room bathrooms—built nearby with local union labor—has not only sped up building process, but also made the site safer by keeping more workers off-site and away from heights.

Thanks to the conference attendees who came. We’re proud to show how Philadelphia’s commercial construction industry is using innovative methods and techniques to create buildings for generations to come.

Special thanks to LF Driscoll team for being our guides, and especially to Tom Stefanko, Project Director for LF Driscoll, for designing the tour.
