GBCA member Burns & McDonnell is growing its East Coast presence with the expansion of its Philadelphia office. The growth in Pennsylvania is part of the 100% employee-owned global engineering, architecture, construction, environmental and consulting firm’s plan to continue broadening its service offerings throughout the Northeast.

“The need for design-build solutions remains strong and is continually growing,” says Sheldon Streeter, Philadelphia office lead. “We’re expanding our team and our presence so that we are able to offer full-service capabilities to our clients as they face small to massive infrastructure updates and everything in between.”

At 10,000 square feet, the new office will enable the Burns & McDonnell local staff to double, as well as continue to fill key positions moving forward. This allows for expanded transmission and distribution substation work as well as manufacturing and environmental services for the surrounding areas.

“We’re proud to bring local top talent to our firm as well as new jobs to the community,” says Jerry Fan, senior vice president of the New England region. “Our mission is to make our clients successful, and it starts with retaining the most talented and diverse team of construction, engineering and architectural professionals in the industry.”

Employee-owners in Philadelphia provide a full spectrum of design-build services — primarily focused on manufacturing, aviation, federal, oil and gas, energy, power transmission and digital optimization solutions. They have managed more than $900 million in projects.
