General contracting and construction management firm INTECH Construction announced a key ownership transition with the promotions of Phil Moses, Principal and Vice President to President, and Blaise Lutz, Principal and General Counsel to Chief Financial Officer. Moses takes the INTECH helm from co-founder Craig “Sab” Sabatino, who will step into a chairman role.

Sabatino co-founded INTECH in 1986 with Will Schwartz, who retired from the firm in 2017 but maintains a consultative relationship. Today’s promotions represent a milestone in company management, as INTECH shifts to its second generation of ownership and remains Philadelphia’s largest locally owned construction firm.

“The promotions of Phil and Blaise reinforce the success of our strategic planning and consistency to steward INTECH into the future,” said Sabatino. “I step back with full confidence that Phil and Blaise will carry forward INTECH’s values, its company culture, and its drive toward innovation in a seamless transition. Our clients and teams have appreciated their leadership over the years and I’m sure will join me in my enthusiastic endorsement of their – and INTECH’s – future success.”

“I appreciate the trust this promotion demonstrates,” explained Moses. “As a longtime INTECH employee, I understand the vision set forth by Sab and Will when they founded the company. I am excited about the potential that, together with my partners, we can bring a new leadership perspective to our shared values of safety, excellence, diversity, community, and sustainability.”

Moses joined INTECH in 2004 as a project manager. He has led significant INTECH projects for Episcopal Academy, the Museum of the American Revolution, the Philadelphia 76ers, and the University of Pennsylvania. He oversees INTECH’s pre-construction department, including estimators, marketing and business development staff, and the company’s diversity and community engagement initiatives. Moses also sits on the University City District board of directors. He holds an M.B.A. from the Pennsylvania State University and a B.S. in Civil Engineering from Villanova University.

Lutz oversees risk management, legal, finance, accounting, and human resource departments. He joined INTECH in 1996 as an accountant, left the firm to attend law school, and returned as general counsel. He holds a J.D. from Temple University Beasley School of Law and a B.S. in Accounting from Villanova University.

“From his earliest days with INTECH, Blaise proved himself through dedication, hard work, and ability to manage many of our most critical financial and operational tasks,” said Sabatino. “Phil and Blaise understand the values and vision of INTECH and I trust them both to continue to grow and evolve the company.
