On Tuesday, September 18, 2018, GBCA hosted a Technology Lunch & Learn: Leveraging Apps and Solutions. Held at the Center for Architecture + Design, this event featured a panel discussing new technologies, particularly mobile apps, being used in Philadelphia’s construction industry.

The panel featured four Philadelphia-based construction experts:

The panel discussed applications and programs that they use in the field, such as PlanGrid. They also shared stories about implementing new technologies, ensuring that different collaborators (General Contractors, Subcontractors, Engineers, Architects, etc.) are also using comparable and compatible technologies, identifying the appropriate technology for the size of the need, and finding affordable options.

This sold out event was put together by GBCA’s Technology Committee, a subcommittee of GBCA’s Education Committee.

Later this year, GBCA will collaborate with construction associations Architectural Glass & Metal Association (AGMA), Employing Bricklayers Association (EBA), Mechanical Contractors Association of Eastern PA (MCA), and the National Electrical Contractors Association of Southeastern PA, NJ, and DE (NECA) and present the first Construction Technology Expo in Philadelphia.
