INTECH Construction will begin building the new Equal Justice Center (EJC), a 12-story, 180,000-square-foot building, in 2019.

The EJC will be constructed on what is now a surface parking lot at 800-830 Vine Street, a complex site that contains two underground Septa lines. The EJC project is a part of a larger development project for the entire block, including market rate housing, affordable senior housing, a hotel, and a large swath of open green space.

From the Philadelphia Business Journal:

The justice center is an initiative of the Philadelphia Bar Foundation. The building will house 20 civil legal aid nonprofit organizations that help more than 40,000 people annually. The new location will streamline access to that legal aid and social support for those who use the center. It is scheduled to open in 2022.
