Construction Job Cost Accountant

McDonald Building Company is seeking a Job Cost Accountant for monitoring the financial progress of all projects, approving expenses, and ensuring that project billings are issued to clients and payments are collected & timely issued to our trade partners. The Job Cost Accountant position will report to our Controller.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Entering of customer billings
  • Preparation of project financial reports as requested by Project Management & Executive Team
  • Attend project meetings
  • Entry of project invoices – vendor and subcontractor – including allocation to Job Cost items and calculation of retainage
  • Processing of Accounts Payable payments
  • Allocation of payroll to budget line items
  • Preparation of budget versus actual reports
  • Assisting in the month end close of the General Ledger – including account reconciliations
  • Other accounting-related tasks assisting Controller and Project Management staff
  •  Reconciliation of Project Costs
  • Production of Project Profit & Loss reports
